We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Andy Airey as our new Chair of Trustees. The Mix is entering its second decade of empowering young people, and Andy’s guidance marks an exciting new chapter.

Andy brings a wealth of senior and strategic experience from management consulting, international engineering, education, and the charity sector. As the former Director of Bellerbys Colleges, he supported international students in their educational journey. He also served as Chief Executive of the Inspiring Futures Foundation, a charity dedicated to career guidance and employability support for young people. Prior to that, he was a teacher of mathematics at Kings College, a state school in Guildford.

In recent years, Andy has worked as a Business Adviser, helping SME organisations and business leaders across the UK navigate strategic and operational challenges. His early career saw him in leadership roles at global engineering firms and as a consultant with Bain & Company. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s in Engineering Science from Oxford University.

On his appointment Andy said, “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chair at The Mix and look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, the CEO, Malcolm, and the management team over the coming months and years.

“I have been incredibly impressed by the passion and commitment of all the staff I have met so far and by the impact the organisation has had over the last decade in Stowmarket and the surrounding area.

“I’ve enjoyed returning to my roots since moving back to Suffolk, and I’m very excited to be getting involved in The Mix and the important work it does in support of young people locally.”
